Hello friends and neighbors,
I’m excited to share that I’m running for Common Council in the City of Utica because I believe we deserve leadership that listens, acts, and truly cares about our community.
I’ve lived the realities many of us face right here in Utica. Raised by a single father in a low-income household, I relied on community services and worked hard to put myself through college. I’ve built a life and raised my family in this city, owning a small business, working for local nonprofits, and volunteering wherever I can. Through challenges and loss, I’ve learned resilience and remained rooted in the community I love. Utica has always been my home, and my heart is here with its people.
For years, I’ve been serving in nonprofit leadership roles, running a neighborhood association, speaking at school board meetings, attending Council meetings, and advocating for those who often go unheard. Now, I want to take this commitment a step further—to bring real change to the Common Council.
Here’s what I’m committed to:
- Transparent Government
Too often, we learn about city matters through social media rumors. I’ll push for more frequent press releases and open communication between City Hall and residents—so we know what’s happening, and why. - Smart Budgeting
I believe in responsible spending that looks at the real impact of tax increases on working families, seniors, and low-income residents. We can’t fix everything overnight, but we can make choices that don’t unfairly burden those with the least. - Stronger Infrastructure
A road-rating program already exists, and it should be accessible online for everyone to see. I’ll advocate for fair use of this data so all neighborhoods get the improvements they deserve—not just a select few. - City-School Partnership
Our schools can’t do it alone. By collaborating on grants, shared resources, and programs, the Council can help ensure our students succeed—because their success is our community’s success. - After-School Programs
Every child deserves a safe place to learn and grow. I’ll expand partnerships between the city and nonprofits to strengthen these programs, giving working parents peace of mind and kids the support they need. - The Homeless Crisis
This is about people, not just numbers. We need compassionate, practical solutions that ensure everyone has shelter and access to essential services. Strong communities take care of each other. - Working with City Hall
I believe in collaboration, not combative politics. As someone who’s lived on both sides of struggle, I’ll bring insight and empathy to the table, focusing on solutions instead of standoffs. - Moving Beyond Partisanship
Party politics have divided us for too long. Our Council should unite behind ideas that help everyone, regardless of political affiliation. I’m here to work with anyone willing to make Utica better.
Our city is strong. With the right leadership, we can make it even stronger.
But I can’t do this alone. I need your support!
I’m ready to listen, work hard, and make sure every voice in Utica is heard.
Thank you for believing in what we can accomplish together.
I’d love to hear from you! Whether you have questions, concerns, or just want to introduce yourself, send me an email at [email protected] or a DM on Instagram or Facebook. I’m always happy to chat, whether online or over coffee.
